Mackay is situated half way between Brisbane and Cairns. Our people, are genuine and warm. The City Heart is lined with palm trees and tropical foliage and has many beautifully restored and maintained historical buildings that give the city a uniquely charming character. Locals walk at a gentle pace. The city lines the banks of the Pioneer River, one of the only two blue water rivers in Queensland.

Nature has blessed this region with the magical islands of the southern Whitsundays like Brampton, Keswick, St Bees and Scawfell that lie just off the coast inland from the Great Barrier Reef, the largest structure on earth created by living creatures.

Our climate is similar to the Hawaiian islands and the sun shines for an average of 232 days a year, however tropical showeres often fall between January and March.

Temperatures differ no more than eight degrees in summer and winter and a minimum of 17 degrees.
